A quintet recorded inside a centuries-old church and a klezmer collaboration spanning Colorado and Transylvania are among the projects in Adhyâropa Records’ Oct. 9 release update. Four ensembles lead the announcement, with one album available now and three more taking preorders.

Saxophonist Jack Pearce’s debut, Church Lane, was released Oct. 9 through Adhyâropa UK. The quintet formed at Leeds Conservatoire and developed its music through two years of UK touring, according to the album notes. Pearce is joined by guitarist Sam Hughes, pianist Joe Frost-Tesfaye, drummer Angus Haygarth and bassist Dan Sanderson. They recorded the seven original pieces at St. Mary’s Church in Kirkby Lonsdale, bringing the group’s stage experience into a setting with its own acoustics.

Trumpeter John “Scrapper” Sneider’s The Action Is The Juice follows Oct. 30. Its first single, “The Doomscroller,” is available now. The lineup includes John Ellis, Gary Versace, Neal Caine and Rudy Royston, with David Poe contributing vocals and a composition. Sneider’s album notes describe an effort to give writing and improvisation equal weight.

Zoë Aqua’s From the Open Place is due Nov. 6. The Denver-based fiddler continues her collaboration with Transylvanian musicians Gergely Réman on cimbalom, Kálmán Szopos on brácsa and Károly Dénes on bass, joined by vocalist Ira Khonen Temple. The recording includes new settings of poems by Yiddish writer Moyshe Kulbak. “Zsidó Csárdás és Friss” is the first available single.

Aaron Irwin’s The Big Show, arriving Nov. 13, grew from regular performances by the same six musicians at New York and Brooklyn venues. Irwin’s alto saxophone and clarinet join Jeremy Udden, Olli Hirvonen, Chris Parker, Matt Pavolka and Bill Campbell. The lead single is “Land of Lincoln,” from a collection drawing on folk, blues, rock and jazz.

Each album’s Bandcamp page lists digital editions at $15 or more and CDs at $20 or more, before shipping: Church Lane, The Action Is The Juice, From the Open Place and The Big Show. Sneider’s album also has a $30-or-more LP preorder.
