Knowing a relationship is over can arrive before the other person understands why. Karim Panzetta’s new single, “Lost Me,” centers on that moment: a narrator who has stopped trying to repair a partnership and is no longer willing to return to it.

The singer, songwriter and producer describes the song in his release materials as a distinction between physical attraction and lasting commitment. The relationship in the song still has chemistry, but the narrator has decided that chemistry cannot support the future he wants. Anger at having been misled remains part of the story, without becoming a plea for reconciliation.

Panzetta’s press notes place the track within a wider body of writing about desire, vulnerability and self-worth. He draws on his own experiences and those of people around him, using the central feeling of a situation as the starting point for a song rather than treating it as a literal account of events.

That approach carries into the recording process. According to the announcement, Panzetta writes, mixes and masters his songs and works on production alongside Riley Urick. Working from his own studio allows him to move among writing, recording and production as parts of the same process.

The release materials describe his sound as contemporary pop and R&B with atmospheric production. They also outline a release schedule of new music every two weeks, supported by posts documenting studio sessions and other parts of his daily life and career. “Lost Me” is one entry in that continuing project.

Listeners can find “Lost Me” on Spotify. Panzetta links his music, videos and social accounts from his official website, with further updates on Instagram.
