Emily Rohm returns to the music associated with her best-known stage role while making room for her own songwriting in Emily Rohm and the Jane Doe Traveling Show. The concert takes place September 30, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Arlington Heights.
According to the venue’s announcement, Rohm will perform original material from her solo album Traveling Show, classic show tunes and songs from Ride the Cyclone, accompanied by a live band of Chicago musicians.
Rohm originated Jane Doe in the U.S. premiere of Ride the Cyclone, a performance that earned a Lucille Lortel Award nomination. She also recorded the role for the musical’s cast album, connecting her stage performance to the show’s wider listening audience.
Her solo work draws on pop, folk, theater and art song, as well as her operatic training. In the venue’s biography, her influences include Anaïs Mitchell, Harry Nilsson, Kate Bush and ELO. Traveling Show, released independently in 2021, provides another part of the evening’s repertoire.
The program offers a chance to hear the Chicago-based performer move between a character audiences know and material written in her own voice. It also arrives as Metropolis presents its own production of Ride the Cyclone.
