Victoria Clark’s next Chicago appearance will connect a Broadway career to the students working toward careers of their own. The Sarah Siddons Society will honor the actor and director at its annual scholarship benefit November 9 at the Arts Club of Chicago.

Clark has a local chapter in that career: she originated Margaret Johnson in The Light in the Piazza at the Goodman Theatre before taking the role to Broadway, where it earned her the 2005 Tony Award for leading actress in a musical. She won the same award in 2023 for playing the title character in Kimberly Akimbo. Her other Tony nominations include Sister Act, Gigi and Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella.

The November program will revisit those theatrical connections through musical selections performed by Marta Bady, Lillian Castillo, Marya Grandy and Heidi Kettenring. Christopher Chase Carter and Christopher Pazdernik will co-direct, with music direction by Linda Madonia. Chicago broadcaster and comedian Patti Vasquez will host.

The Society will also induct its 2026 scholarship recipients. Proceeds support theater arts students at Chicago-area schools, including Columbia College Chicago, DePaul University, Roosevelt University, Northwestern University and Northern Illinois University, according to the organization’s announcement. While in Chicago, Clark will lead a presentation for university theater students at Roosevelt’s Chicago College of Performing Arts.

The benefit takes place Monday, November 9 at 201 E. Ontario St., with a reception at 6 p.m. and the program at 7 p.m. Individual tickets start at $225 on the Society’s current event page; sponsorship options are also available. Tickets and benefit details are available from the Sarah Siddons Society.
