Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have written and recorded the score for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, the David Fincher film starring Brad Pitt. Louder reported the pairing November 3, bringing another Fincher project into the composers’ filmography.

It is their sixth feature-film collaboration with the director. Their previous scores for Fincher include The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl, Mank and The Killer.
The partnership began with The Social Network, released in 2010. Reznor and Ross won its original-score Oscar at the February 27, 2011, ceremony, as the Academy’s awards record confirms.
For the new film, Fincher directs a screenplay by Quentin Tarantino, with Pitt returning to the character he played in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. Netflix’s synopsis places the story in 1977, eight years after the earlier film’s events.
Booth now works as a Hollywood fixer while also earning money tending bar and working as a projectionist. His next assignment begins with a call from talent agent Karen Crosby, played by Elizabeth Debicki, on behalf of television star Charlie Peters, played by Scott Caan.
Carla Gugino plays Peters’ wife, Toni, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays football champion turned screen actor Roderick Harrison. Peter Weller is also among the announced cast.
The movie is scheduled for an exclusive two-week IMAX run beginning November 25, followed by Netflix streaming December 23. Those dates were already announced in Netflix’s September 21 release notice.
Separately, Louder reports that the score will be released digitally November 25 through Netflix Music. That is the reported soundtrack date; December 23 is the movie’s streaming date.
The schedule puts the film in theaters four weeks before its streaming debut. Moviegoers can see it during the announced IMAX engagement, with home viewing following in December.
