Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist OPLIAM will release Serotonin Soldier, a 20-track double album, on October 12, 2026. Sky People Entertainment announced the release for Indigenous Peoples’ Day, describing the date as a way to honor Indigenous art, resilience and sovereignty.
The project is organized around a change in musical scale. According to the announcement, its first part works with bedroom-pop textures, while the second moves toward alternative rock and acoustic protest. The track list carries that movement across songs about identity, connection and resistance.
Among the songs highlighted in the release are “Paint Yourself,” an exploration of identity; “Black Sheepz Turn G.O.A.T,” framed as a song for people who feel outside the mainstream; and “LONG HAIR BEAUTY LIFE,” which addresses love and shared adventure. “SUNSET S. SIDE MPLS” returns to OPLIAM’s hometown of Minneapolis through an acoustic protest song.
The album also includes “Led By Dreams,” which the announcement lists as a collaboration with Ram Dass. Credits name Liam McDonald on vocals, guitar and keys and as producer, John Merikoski on drums and engineering, Enrique Vargas on bass and keys, and Mack Woodward on mixing and mastering.
Born in Minneapolis and now based in Chicago, OPLIAM is identified in the supplied biography as a Mohawk descendant with ties to Akwesasne. His work also includes the book Indigenous America, published in 2022.
Serotonin Soldier is scheduled for a full release October 12. Find artist updates through Sky People Entertainment.
